Days: ONE & TWO

So, here it is. My one week of solo exploration. For the most part, it is just me and my shadow, chasing after the luxuries of Minnesota spring. No attachments, for my son is being taken care of by his grandma. I am free to do as I will. I am able to run amok and play. Hopping from place to place, I am an explorer, and I am enjoying every new experience.

Yesterday consisted of waking up and driving over to Tires Plus on East Lake Street in Minneapolis, where I had an 11am appointment to get my oil changed and a power steering fluid flush. At noon, I drove back to St. Paul, where I had an appointment to view apartments with a man named Chuck. After viewing many apartments the past few weeks, I finally settled on one in the Highland Park area of St. Paul and went ahead and signed a lease! Now, all that I need to do is pick paint colors for the walls and my apartment will be ready for me to move in on the first of May.

After the lease signing, I ran home to be greeted by a friend who works at Accent Salon over by The U of M West Bank. She brought her tools and gave me a quick trim and then re-dyed my hair.

Last night the girlfriend was a guest host for a round of trivia at the 501 Club, where we typically frequent on Monday nights for Trivia with Toneski. Her round was very clever, the theme being; directors who choose music carefully in order to add to a scene. She stumped many a contestant!!!

Today, we started our day by venturing out to West 7th Street in St. Paul and having brunch at Day by Day Cafe. I satisfied my hunger with a bagel topped with cream cheese and a ginger-ale. The girlfriend had a tofu scramble with all the fixings, hash-browns and a lemonade to quench her thirst.

I guess I can't exactly claim I am alone on these adventures. My girlfriend does happen to be by my side when she is not busy at work. In fact, right now, we are seated at a quaint coffee shop in St. Paul called KOPPLINS. KOPPLINS has latte art! The girlfriend is rather excited by this, for she herself is becoming a master with such techniques. Both at our computers, enjoying the taste of freshly made drinks, she is hard at work as Culture Editor of L'etoile Magazine.

I patiently entertain myself by writing this blog as she types away. So, here we sit until around 5pm when we will have to go and get ready for our next adventure...
